The FIFe Board was informed that Mrs. Eva Minde from Norway, died on the 2nd of September at the age of 77 years. Eva was elected at the 1992 General Assembly as a member of the FIFe Disciplinary Commission, in which she functioned as secretary. Eva held this position until 2019, a total of 27 years of dedicated service to FIFe.
On top of that, Eva gave FIFe a precious gift that we are still privileged to use; she was the creator of the FIFe Easy Mind System (EMS System). She developed this system in the late 1980’s and it was accepted at the FIFe General Assembly 1990 in Borås, Sweden, to replace an old, complicated system that had become unusable. The EMS-System is a unique, user-friendly registration system not only used by FIFe but by many feline organisations all over the world. For this we owe Eva our immense gratitude. It is surely no coincidence that the acronym “EMS” also stands for “Eva Minde’s System”.
Eva registered her cattery name “Shanholmen” in 1970 and she started breeding EUR in silver tabby. After that, she was the first person in Norway to own a silver ABY and later she bred BUR. Since the last 15 years, Eva bred and showed beautiful BML, which were very successful at shows.
In gratitude of her dedication to FIFe, Eva received the FIFe Medal of Merit at the 2019 General Assembly, where she decided not to stand for election anymore.
If anyone enjoyed life and living, it was Eva and she will be sorely missed. The Board of FIFe extends its sincere condolences to family and friends and the Norwegian FIFe Member NRR.
