After 10 years, the Temporary Breed Training Programme in breed groups (→ Judges Rules Annex 3), which was established to accommodate judges to adjust their competence to fit the new category division, will expire.
What does this mean?
Until 31.12.2026 Members may apply for their student judges to sit judges examinations in breed groups.
As from 01.01.2027:
- Student judge training in breed groups is no longer possible.
- Judges qualified to judge only a part of the breeds in category 1 and/or 4 will keep these qualifications. They may not participate in any Best in Show panel in category 1 resp. 4, including Breed BIS panels.
- Judges not qualified for a full category and wishing to follow the regular judges training programme for the whole category 1 or 4, may apply as a student judge via their Member. Already obtained unused student judge certificates issued prior to 01.01.2027 remain valid for this training.
