At the initiative of the Siberian and Neva Masquerade Breed Councils and recommended by our Commissions (BRC, HWC, JSC and SC), the Board decided to grant preliminary recognition status to the corin variety in Siberian and in Neva Masquerade, effective as from 01.06.2025.

We advise our Members, their registrars and show organisers, our judges and SIB/NEM exhibitors to carefully read and apply the registration and show rules, as laid down in this document, during the corin preliminary recognition phase.
As from 01.06.2025, Siberian / Neva Masquerade corin varieties can be exhibited at shows as preliminary recognised varieties in accordance with Show Rules § 5.5.2:
- up to classes 7 and 8 (for CACIB/CAPIB),
- Best in Variety is possible, but
- no Nominations and no Best in Show.
Please send scans of judges’ reports, diploma’s and PIC/PIP-title registrations of corin Siberian / Neva Masquerade, needed to fulfill the requirements for obtaining the full recognition of the variety to the respective Breed Council:
- Mrs. Lucie Kučerová (CZ), member of the Siberian Breed Council
- Mrs. Ann Iren Bergdal (NO), secretary of the Neva Masquerade Breed Council.
SIB and NEM need to go through the preliminary recognition process as two separate breeds, since their colours/patterns are different. Each breed needs to fulfil the requirements to obtain full recognition for its corin varieties on its own.
We wish breeders and exhibitors of corin Siberian and Neva Masquerade lots of success in their endeavours leading to full recognition of the new variety.
