Welcome to the FIFe News Page

Here you will find various announcements and items of a newsworthy nature regarding this site, the FIFe, as well as, items or matters of general interest.

The Agenda of the FIFe GA 2008

After a delay of almost two weeks, caused by the actions described here below, the Proposals to the GA can now be found in "Events".
The Board is outraged about the copy-right infringements and data-protection law infringements, which occurred over the past 2 weeks, with respect to the Agenda of the FIFe GA 2008.
A few individual members of National FIFe members have illegally obtained copies of the complete PDF Agenda of the coming FIFe GA, which was sent exclusively to authorised parties (all the FIFe National, Commission Members and Officers) and published these on (their) web-sites, uploaded these on third party websites, thus committing a criminal offence.
Others have published links to get access to these illegally obtained documents on discussion lists, which consists of the illegal act of facilitating people to get access to illegally obtained documents: these actions have enabled hundreds of individuals (FIFe and non-FIFe alike) to acquaint themselves with the comprehensive financial report of FIFe, other reports and to get access to signatures of FIFe officers.
This PDF Agenda has an author (please check the document properties) and this author (the FIFe General Secretary) has never consented to third parties publishing this document: this document was exclusively sent to "the Members, Patronage Members, Board and Commission Members and Officers of the FIFe".
The infringements on all these matters are punishable by law, a law, which is valid in the entire EU.
Unless these individuals remove all these illegally obtained documents, links and messages how to access these links, FIFe will consider legal actions.
The Board has requested the FIFe Disciplinary Commission to look into this matter and has also contacted its lawyers, holding office in Luxembourg.
An extra Agenda item will be added this year, to discuss this matter at the GA.
These provocations have seriously delayed the publication of this years FIFe GA Proposals, which was planned on this website on Tuesday 29th April, after all National FIFe Members, in agreement with the FIFe Statutes, had confirmed receipt. Finally, these actions jeopardise the publication of the voting results of this coming GA on the FIFe website: it will be up to the GA to decide if these results can be published on the website.
For now, the Board has decided to install a "Members Only" section, where confidential and privileged documents can be viewed exclusively by the National FIFe Members.
In General, the Board regrets that the actions of a few impatient and ignorant individuals will now have ramifications for all, but maintains, that the Members of FIFe are those listed in the FIFe Members List, and they will be responsible to inform their membership.

Vera Moser Passes Away

It is our sad duty to inform you that Mrs. Vera Moser from Italy passed away last week.

Mrs. Moser was an Honorary FIFe All Breed judge and since the year 2000, one of the three Honorary Members of FIFe .

She was one of the people who stood at the cradle of FIFe and participated as an exhibitor at the very first FIFe shows organised in Europe in 1949 and 1950. In 1959 and 1960 she passed her FIFe Judges Exams and became an All Breed Judge.

Mrs. Moser was a successful breeder of black and blue Persian cats under the cattery name "Dei Diavoli Neri".

We affectionately remember Mrs. Moser as a an intelligent and hospitable lady, who loved cats and people alike and who was always very proud to belong to FIFe: we shall dearly miss her.

On behalf of the Board of FIFe,

Mrs. Annette Sjödin - President

The times they are a' changin'

A couple of major changes to this site have been made.

The default resolution has been increased and support for older browsers has been discontinued.

A review of the statistics for the site reveals that less than .2% of our visitors are using outdated browsers such as Internet Explorer 5.5 and below, Netscape 5.0 and below, and Firefox 1.5 and below.

For those of you still using older browsers, we would suggest you upgrade to a newer version.

We recommend Firefox or Mozilla for both Mac OS X, and Windows (any version) and iCab 2.9.9 for Mac OS 9, not just for those who need to update, but to everyone.

Changing Membership

As a result of discussions at the GA 2006 the Board decided to modify the procedure as described in General Rules article 2.5 allowing individual members of FIFe Members to change to another National FIFe Member outside the country of their permanent residence.

You may now find these revamped forms and procedure, which should be followed in the Library.

The main idea was to change the infrastructure; to regulate that contacts from and to FIFe are matters between the National FIFe Member and the FIFe Secretariat/Board.

The Board trusts this modified procedure is clear and will result in a stricter observance of the Rules.
